Mary's Photos, Book 1 : Photos from Mary Gardner Ohmann's album annotated with her descriptions.  Mary Gardner (of St. Paul, Minnesota) is the daughter of Willis Gardner (whose family lived in Galena, Illinois) and Sophia Brenner (whose family lived in the Dubuque, Iowa area), and the photos include the before-mentioned places.  The photos are courtesy of Paula Gramling, Mary's granddaughter.

Mary Gardner (of St. Paul, Minnesota) is the daughter of Willis Gardner (whose family lived in Galena, Illinois) and Sophia Brenner (whose family lived in the Dubuque, Iowa area). Gardners of Galena, Illinois : From Galena Weekly Gazette, 20 February 1913:  Miss Mary Murray was born in Ireland in 1826. When three years of age she came to the United States and has been a resident of Galena for 63 years. In 1850 she was married [to John C. Gardner] at Vinegar Hill township. To this union ten children were born, four of whom survive, namely Mrs. Will [Susan B.] Rouse, East Galena, Mrs. T. W. [Mary C.] Whitby, Dubuque, Ia; Willis Gardner of St. Paul and Miss Margaret who has made her home with her mother. Mrs. Gardner's husband preceded her to the grave 17 years ago this coming March. Besides four children the deceased is survived by twenty-three grandchildren and seven great grand children.
